Native Solitary Bee Basics: Mason Bees & Leafcutter Bees

from $27.00

Friday, April 10th or Saturday , April 11th at 6.30pm
Poppy & Finch Studio (nestled in the back of Plural Collective outdoor corridor)
8012 SE 13th Avenue, Portland, OR 97202

I’ll be hosting Sharon from Sharotonin at my studio sharing her knowledge about our native bees. Sharon is an amazing illustrator and designs products that highlight topics important to native habitat builders, so they can easily show that they’re part of that community – and have a chance to educate others about the importance of a healthy native ecosystem.

Meet the gentle, wildly effective bees already living in your neighborhood! In this beginner-friendly class, we’re jumping into the world of mason bees and leafcutter bees, two incredible native pollinators that are easy (and fun!) to support.

We’ll cover:

  • Why native bees are the real pollination MVPs

  • How they differ from honey bees (spoiler: very different vibes)

  • How to raise mason and leafcutter bees at home

  • The behind-the-scenes care of having a bee house

  • The ultra-low effort route of supporting these wonderful bees

Whether you’re ready to raise bees or just want to make your yard more welcoming to wildlife, you’ll leave with practical, approachable ways to help native bees thrive, and documents you can take home so you don’t have to remember it all. :)

All attendees also get 10% off any Sharotonin products, including garden signs, stickers, t-shirts, and tote bags.
