Pop-up Event: Mini-Habitat Container Planting at SaunaGlo
$17.00

Sunday, October 18th, 2.5pm
SaunaGlo Parklet/Pollinator Dedication event
1915 SE Jefferson Street, Milwaukie, Oregon

Will you help us dedicate Milwaukie's newest public park?

RSVP here

The Front Porch Park quietly opened up this summer, and we'd love your support to hold an official dedication event!

Thanks to generous support from The City of Milwaukie and the Milwaukie Rotary, community members (and visitors) can now enjoy a great new pedestrian amenity and demonstration garden. This an urban re-greening project to establish pollinator habitat along the existing Pollinator Pathway.

We hope this event will help raise awareness about the importance of native plants, pollinators and their habitats, heat islands and de-paving initiatives -- alongside providing a case-study in how a private business can re-invest profits into the community that not only benefit the planet but are good for their bottom line.

I’ll be there to help you create a mini-habitat tabletop garden with my guidance:

1. Bring your own container (preferably one with height or depth ranges from 4" to 8" and drainage holes) or purchase one from my collection (options range from $18 to $40).
2. Choose your native plant (price varies)
3. Create your own or I can create it for you (supplies & materials including decorations included)
4. You’ll go home with a one-of-a-kind living centerpiece to adorn your sweet outdoor balcony or porch while attracting beneficial insects

First come first serve; Supplies/materials are limited. You can pay here for a base cost to reserve your supplies/materials before the event.
Or email me at weina@poppyandfinch.com to reserve supplies/materials or if you have any questions.

Botanical Brag (Broom X Swag) to benefit Friends of Tryon Creek
from $47.00

Friday, October 23rd 7 - 8.30pm (to benefit Friends of Tryon Creek)
At Poppy & Finch Botanical Studio nestled in the back of the Plural Collective outdoor corridor:
8012 SE 13th Ave. Portland, OR 97202

Let’s get grounded and create a hanging botanical brag, a combination of broom and swag, using PNW Western Red Cedar and other Fall greeneries, etc.

While we create, I’d like to encourage you to brag about your accomplishments so far in the year, honor the new season/beginning and connect with the land. We’ll use & learn about PNW Western Red Cedar’s habitat, significance, roles to the land, and the indigenous community. PNW Western Red Cedar attracts good spirits, brings protection and disperses negative energies. You can hang your swag anywhere, such as your front door or bedroom door. We’ll also use cinnamon, cones, dried flowers, seeds, conifers, herbs, and more.

For wreath, we’ll be using repurposed embroidery hoops with moss.

• 15% of fee goes to Friends of Tryon Creek
• Space is limited to 5 people per workshop (for age 17+)
• All supplies/material included
• A journal with nature-inspired and reflections
• A PDF hand-out of knowledge & resources on native plants including a list of local non-profit organizations and native plant nurseries

You will walk away feeling connected with yourself, the land, community and all the critters that belong on this land.

NO REFUND FOR CANCELLATION 5 DAYS BEFORE THE WORKSHOP DATE.
