Let’s get grounded and create a botanical swag using PNW Western Red Cedar to honor the new season and connect with the land. We’ll use & learn about PNW Western Red Cedar’s habitat, significance, roles to the land, and the indigenous community. PNW Western Red Cedar attracts good spirits, brings protection and disperses negative energies. You can hang your swag anywhere, such as your front door or bedroom door. We’ll also use cinnamon, cones, dried flowers, seeds, conifers, herbs, and more.
For wreath, we’ll be using repurposed embroidery hoops with moss.
• 15% of fee goes to Friends of Tryon Creek
• Space is limited to 5 people per workshop (for age 17+)
• All supplies/material included
• A journal with nature-inspired and reflections
• A hand-out of knowledge & resources on native plants including a list of local non-profit organizations and native plant nurseries
You will walk away feeling connected with yourself, the land, community and all the critters that belong on this land.
