Woodland Mini-habitat Tabletop Garden in a Colander
A woodland mini-habitat in a repurposed vintage colander with Montia Parvifolia (Showy Rock Montia or Littleleaf Miners Lettuce), moss, branches, handmade local ceramic mushroom, Douglas Fir cone, and faux bird/egg with hooks on the back for mounting.
Montia parvifolia is an easy perennial flowering plant native to western North America from Alaska to California to Montana, where it grows in shade, rocky slopes, cliffs, creekbanks, moist to wet areas in several types of mountain habitat. It’s in the minors lettuces and the leaves are edible. Its dainty pink flowers bloom in the spring and summer.
Care instructions:
Perfect for your covered partial to full shaded patio or balcony. Place it in your sink and water slowly around the plant until water drips at the bottom once a week; mist it twice in between watering.
